POSITION: Web Developer/Programmer

POP Interactive is a small, fast-paced web design and development firm that is recognized among the top web design firms in San Francisco. We have been building sites for large and small companies since 1995 and have created many award winning sites. We work with clients in a broad range of industries in the Bay Area as well as throughout the US and internationally.

ABOUT THE POSITION
In this position you report to and work closely with the co-founders of POP and will collaborate with other POP staff members to develop simple to complex websites and web-applications. The successful candidate will be someone that:

Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in defining requirements for web applications and functional components for Websites, Extranets and Intranets in collaboration with other team members.
  • Designing and programming website functional components and web applications.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting existing web applications and site functionality.
  • Identifying, researching, evaluating and recommending new web development technologies, coding standards and best practices.
  • Collaborating with project managers, front end designers and developers and clients.
  • Meeting project deadlines.
  • Developing project documentation.
  • Providing support to clients.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid experience in the following areas required:
    • ASP.NET, ASP, C#, VB/VBScript
    • MSSQL Server and database design
    • XML
    • JavaScript
    • XHTML, CSS
    • IIS administration
  • Experience any of the following areas a strong plus:
    • AJAX
    • PHP
    • PERL
    • Apache administration
  • Experience defining, designing and implementing n-tier web-based applications required.
  • Must be knowledgeable in developing efficient web pages and possess a strong understanding of development tradeoffs between speed, design, flexibility and the underlying page architecture.
  • Experience designing search engine friendly websites required.
  • Prior experience troubleshooting web applications and dynamic web pages required.
  • Understanding of cross-browser issues and Web Standards required.
  • Experience developing formal specifications and related documents required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Experience with SharePoint a plus.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 3+ years professional web development and programming experience.
